July 1 Theme Day: Red

Today's theme is "red" and this was the first photo I thought to use. In it is pictured a red Jeep on my house! :-) Actually, it is a travel bug for one of my other pastimes, geocaching. Geocaching is

"an entertaining adventure game for gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is
a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps
unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all
over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS
users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a
cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is
asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the
cache. "

It's a fun way to combine hiking and technology, and a great way to see different areas of your city. To learn more about geocaching or travel bugs, go to geocaching.com.

You can see "Red" in all of these other cities today:

  4. WE are also into geocaching. I love your description it sounds so technical. We call it "hiking with a purpose".
Do you lease these little trucks in the cache?
