Monticello Trumpeter Swans... in the Snow!

San Diego Daily Photo is coming to you from Woodbury, Minnesota until January 3!

I know it is supposed to be one photo, but we're a couple of insane Californians who thought they should drive 60 miles from Woodbury to Monticello in a blizzard to stand in the driving snow and 12 degree weather to take pictures of Trumpeter Swans.  Very cool (read more about the swans here) and a reminder of why we don't live here anymore an adventurous drive .

  1. Beautiful pictures, amazing view, thanks for the effort, greatly appreciate being able to see them in the comfort of my room. Looks like thousands of them!

  2. Beautiful photos of these magnificent swans. And in a snowy setting too! I see you made it back safely. I hate driving in rush hour in the snow, way too slow going. Stay warm, -7 tonight.

  4. Not so silly! They're beautiful to see. When our children were young, we regularly made a trip to Rochester, MN to see the birds there and learned very quickly to wear boot. Foul fowl!!
