San Diego: Home of Mr. Box

Jack in the Box has an interesting ad campaign now.  It started with this announcement "Jack Box, Founder and CEO of Jack in the Box, was hit by a bus on Sunday, February 1st. This video is an official statement from Jack in the Box."

San Diego hosts the Jack in the Box Headquarters, actually, right across the street from where I work.  In their parking lot you can see the tributes left for "Mr. Box" at his parking spot.  (not great picture quality - it was taken from my cell phone)

Mission Bay Kitty

No coyotes in Mission Bay, so this little guy is safe from that danger. I wonder what he does in the rain...

Wall Fish

My sister is vacationing in Costa Rica right now.  Wish I were there too, so I posted a picture of some fish we ate when we visited there on our 2007 Panama Canal cruise.  We had lunch at a little cafe near the beach.  We speak minimal Spanish and our waiter spoke little English.  We ordered "pez" which we knew was fish.  He said "wall?" or something like that.  Somehow we thought he meant fillet.  We said yes.  When the fish came, we figured out that he meant "whole"!  The fish was extremely tasty though, and I wish I were sitting in the sun at that cafe, drinking a cool cerveza!
