Site of the First Padres Ballpark

Lane Field encompasses approximately 5.7 acres of land located on the north side of Broadway, between North Harbor Drive and Pacific Highway, adjacent to the core of San Diego’s downtown. From the 1930s through the 1950s, Lane Field served as a baseball stadium for the teams of the Pacific Coast League. It was the home of the Padres from 1936 to 1957. Since the 1960s, the site has been primarily used for parking.

The Port and Lane Field San Diego Developers, LLC are have entered into options to lease, activating the bayfront with two hotels, visitor-serving retail, underground public parking, and nearly two acres of public space. The development would also extend upland views through "C" Street to San diego Bay throught an east-west roadway. The roadway separates the site into Lane Field North and Lane Field South and serves as a common vehicular entrance to both sites terminating at a large public plaza adjacent to North Harbor Drive.
